Mr Mohamed Shafie Marikar, old boy of Zahira college colombo. Left college in 1969. He joined Peradeniya University to do his degree in mathematics. He was a teacher in the english medium at Royal College Colombo.
He then proceeded to the United Kingdom to do his post graduate studies in computer science. After getting qualified in computer science he worked in UK. From there he was working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the ministry of planning.
He also worked in Vienna, Australia at the United Nations office for 20 years as an computer expert.
After 35 years of service in overseas he has returned to Sri Lanka to serve his Alma Mater and the country. Presently he is an active member of Group of 60.
